I am about 13 weeks post op now. Everyday l get a bit stronger. For the first couple weeks without the boot, I hugged the rail on stairs and really could feel the stretch when going down steps. Today, I hardly notice. I can easily do calf raises with both feet but cant do a single calf raise with the repaired foot. Strength is coming back very slowly and the atrophy of the calf muscle is quite evident.
My doctor said I can return to light rolling but to avoid explosive movements. I also told him I would not engage in any wrestling ( so stay on the ground) as he doesn't want the tendon loaded and then pushed off hard.
I have been pushing him from day 1 that I was on the "Aaron Rodgers plan" so maybe I wore him down and he just gave up, but he seemed comfortable with me returning to jits light.
I plan on returning next week. I have had three surgeries in 3 years ( Birmingham hip which was 20 years in the making, and a detached finger ligament) so as a 46 year old I have to start training smarter.
Speedy recovery to you.
